Plan a Healthier Trip to the State Fair This Year!

Planning a trip to the State Fair?  Think you need a day off to recover from the food?  Visit the State Fair’s Food & Ride Finder to plan your day and find a little balance.

You can access a complete vendor list to choose the treats you’re most looking forward to trying.  It’s also a great place to map out where to find food that won’t weigh you down, like roasted corn, green beans, cabbage, collard greens, and even a kale and broccoli salad.  (yes, the fair sells veggies that aren’t fried!)

According to the fair’s FAQs, bringing your own food and drinks is allowed,

… so be sure to take a water bottle to refill throughout the day.  It will help you stay hydrated, avoid sugary drinks, and leave room in your fair budget for solid food.  You can also bring an apple or other portable snack so you’re not caught hungry with a deep-fried Twinkie as your only option… unless of course that’s your fair splurge;)
