Emotional Eating – Twitter Chat

The last of our five Twitter Chats on fitness and wellness is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, February 10) at noon.  So far, we’ve heard from a dietitian, an exercise specialist, a family health educator, and a physician.

We’re ending this series with psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey Childers. He plans to share strategies on how to stay on track for the rest of the year. Chat topics will include:

• Identifying eating disorders

• Figuring out your triggers to overeating and how to redirect that energy into healthy activities

• Nutrition deficiencies that can present as depression or fatigue that can lead to overeating

• How not to let diets become an obsession and instead make healthy eating a lifestyle change

How to Participate

You can view Dr. Childers’s side of the Twitter chat by going to WakeMed’s twitter page or you can view the conversation here.

Ask Dr. Childers a question by posting your question to your profile and including the hashtag “#hlthchat” within the message. This hashtag lets Dr. Childers keep track of your questions and answer them quickly. You can also direct message questions during the chat or in advance to @WakeMed.
