On Saturday, November 23, 2019, Activate Good will be bringing together families from around the Triangle in recognition of Family Volunteer Day – a day of service that celebrates the power of families who volunteer together while supporting their local communities.
A Way to Give Back to the Community
Established more than two decades ago by Points of Light, Family Volunteer Day was founded to demonstrate the benefits of family volunteering and provide opportunities for families to help their local communities.
Each year, Family Volunteer Day is strategically held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving as a way to ‘kick-off’ the holiday season with giving and service.
Families can register and join Activate Good the afternoon of Saturday, November 23 at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA to unite with families around the Triangle in celebration of Family Volunteer Day, sponsored by WakeMed. Families can sign up for one of two possible shifts at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA to participate in kid-friendly service projects such as assembling “smile boxes” for children in the hospital, writing letters to the troops, making no-sew scarves, and more!

Event Details:
- Shift One: 1pm-2pm
- Shift Two: 3pm-4pm
- Where: Southeast Raleigh YMCA
- Age Range: This event is designed for parents and kids ages 3 and up.
How Families Can Participate
Registration is required. Space is limited, so parents/caregivers must register for the shift of their choice at https://activategood.org/fvd2019.
