Superheroes Visit WakeMed Children’s; Local News Reporter Plays Superman

For the second year in a row, WakeMed Children’s was filled with delight when Batman, Ironman and Spider-Man suspended themselves from the windows outside of the hospital to give young patients an unforgettable experience. The superheroes were actually employees of Scottie’s Building Services, WakeMed’s window washing service, who donated their time on April 16 to give the children a fun distraction from their time in the hospital.

Additionally, local WNCN news reporter Phil Sanchez dressed as Superman and visited with patients inside the hospital as part of his regular series “Phil Fills In,” for which he travels to local businesses and organizations to try a new job for the day. See photos and videos here.

Thanks to everyone who gave their time and energy to participate in this special event for our young patients!
