Construction is underway at WakeMed North Healthplex to transform it into Wake County’s fifth hospital and the county’s first dedicated Women’s Hospital. Scheduled to open in May 2015, there’s a lot more going on these days than just moving dirt. Visible site changes are starting to happen. We look forward to sharing construction updates with you as the building gets closer to completion.
WakeMed North Healthplex is also home to North Carolina’s first stand-alone emergency department. This emergency department was so well received that it has become a national model and one that we have duplicated in the Brier Creek and Apex communities. In fact, our next big grand opening will be in August at the Garner Healthplex, which features Wake County’s fourth stand-alone emergency department.
