Innovations in Health Day – This Saturday

Looking for something fun (and maybe a little educational) to do this weekend?

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences has partnered with local healthcare organizations, including WakeMed, to present the first Innovations in Health Day on Saturday, June 15 from 9 am to 2 pm.

All day the WakeMed Center for Innovative Learning will be offering attendees a chance to brush up on their suturing skills via interactive gaming and refine other medical procedures using human patient simulators.

At 9:30 am, Wake Emergency Physicians Dr. Graham Snyder will present in the Daily Planet. His presentation will provide education about drowning and its prevention.  This is particularly relevant right now as our community is mourning the loss of two young lives just this past weekend to drowning.  Read a recent blog Dr. Snyder contributed to this blog on drowning.

At 12:30 pm, WakeMed Faculty Physicians – Raleigh Cardiology Dr. Islam Othman will teach attendees about cardiac catheterization in the Daily Planet.

There will be something for the whole family.  We look forward to seeing you.
