We are all aware that we have a nuclear power plant in our Wake County. Chances are, you have never given much thought to the extra precautions and preparation healthcare organizations and community agencies take to ensure that they are prepared to respond in the event of a radiation exposure.
Last week, WakeMed coordinated a drill scenario where a Shearon Harris nuclear power plant employee was injured, exposed to radiation and rushed to the emergency department.
The patient was a human patient simulator from the WakeMed Center for Innovative Learning. We are pleased to report that he is recovering well.
Will there be a “Ladies Day” at Wake Med North campus this year?
