Today, we would like to congratulate Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine for welcoming its first class of students.
Even before opening today, Campbell’s program can be deemed a success due to the fact that they chose their first class of 162 students from over 4,000 applications submitted from across the country.
Campbell’s program will train primary care physicians, with a particular focus on growing physicians to practice in rural and underserved areas. Students will spend their first two years at a beautiful new medical complex in Harnett County and will spend their third and fourth years studying at area hospitals like WakeMed, New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital, Cape Fear Valley Regional Medical Center, Johnston Medical Center, Harnett County Hospital, and other facilities around the state.
This brand new medical school is a credit to the vision of Campbell University’s exceptional leaders and WakeMed is proud to be a partner that will help train this next generation of health care providers. We look forward to providing training and residency opportunities.
