This Earth Day Go Meatless for the Environment

There are more reasons to go Meatless on Mondays than just better health.

Going meatless just one day a week can also help protect the environment by promoting energy conservation, reducing environmental pollution, and helping to relieve world hunger all by eating less meat.

Producing just one pound of beef uses as much water as taking 60 showers, consumes grain equal to 20 loaves of bread, burns as much energy as 256 100 watt light bulbs per hour, and uses enough fuel to drive your car 32 miles.

This Monday, April 22 is also Earth Day, a day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Take this opportunity to do your part by going meatless this Monday for the environment and consider extending that pledge to many more Mondays to come – for the health of your body and the planet.

On this Earth Day, let’s join the movement and pledge to go meatless once at least once a week. Submit your pledge today . You will receive weekly emails with mouthwatering meatless recipes.
