Southeast Raleigh now has access to more outpatient services with the opening of the WakeMed Raleigh Medical Park and the Capital City Surgery Center.
The Capital City Surgery Center is a joint venture between community physicians and WakeMed and offers outpatient surgery in specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, neurosurgery, pain management and urology.
“The Capital City Surgery Center brings together a major hospital system, physician partners and experts in managing ambulatory surgery centers. The end result of this partnership is increased access to efficient, quality medical care in an area that has historically lacked outpatient services,” commented Carolyn Knaup, vice president of ambulatory services.
Now, patients have access to outpatient imaging, lab, pre-anesthesia testing and surgery all in a convenient outpatient facility near the corner of New Bern Ave. and Sunnybrook Rd.
By the end of the summer, Duke Children’s and WakeMed Children’s Specialty Services will also open offices in the WakeMed Raleigh Medical Park, bringing nationally recognized pediatric sub-specialist faculty from Duke to WakeMed.
