Mother’s Milk Bank Needs Donations

The WakeMed Mother’s Milk Bank, one of nine breast milk banks in the United States, desperately needs donations.  Specifically the Milk Bank is seeking donations from local mothers who have a minimum of approximately 150 oz of frozen breast milk. 

Donated milk is pasteurized and then distributed to premature babies, babies or children with allergies or formula intolerances, immunologic deficiencies, etc.

Last month the WakeMed Mother’s Milk Bank processed and distributed 18,700 ounces primarily to premature babies being cared for in hospital neonatal intensive care units on the East Coast.
